Unlike many Dales villages, Burnsall has a high level of owner/occupation and this, combined with its strong community spirit, and two renowned hostelries, makes it a popular place of choice to live. It is surrounded by spectacular National Park scenery, including the magnificent Burnsall Fell which is the focal point of the annual Burnsall Feast & Sports. The River Wharfe runs under the famous Burnsall Bridge, and within the village there is a strongly respected Primary School, Children's Nursery and recently upgraded Village Hall which hosts a wide range of events. Grassington is 3.5 miles away, hosting Dickensian Weekends and an Annual Arts & Music Festival with fringe events, ceilidhs and live music events, as is Threshfield where there is a Secondary School, although Burnsall is also in the catchment area for the Skipton Grammar Schools, circa 10 miles to the South.

Set just out of the village centre, Beckfoot Cottage enjoys a slightly elevated location, directly adjoining open fields to the rear and with magnificent views, both across open countryside and over the village to the hills beyond. Immaculately maintained and presented, the cottage offers spacious three/four bedroomed accommodation with double glazed windows and central heating from an oil-fired radiator system. Equally suited to either a permanent or second home occupier, the accommodation is described in brief below with approximate room sizes:-

OUTSIDE The gardens are a most attractive feature of Beckfoot Cottage. To the rear, there is a pretty lawn with stone boundary walls adjoining the open fields, and with mature shrubs and flowers and a charming part-culverted stream. To the side there is a 'Secret Garden' with a curved stone wall, which local historians believe was the original village pound but is now full of snowdrops and forms a delightful and totally secluded garden area, with shaped hedging and a latch gate to a pathway alongside giving access to the 2-car parking area alongside part of the Village Green which is rented on an annual licence from the Village Green Committee at £100 pa. To the front the cottage is approached by double 5-bar painted timber gates leading to a hardcore parking area for two cars, with lovely lawned areas alongside, mature shrubberies and flower beds, and stone paved pathways with stone mounting steps and access to two underfloor storage areas.
