DIRECTIONS From Gargrave take the signposted road in the direction of Malham, proceeding through Eshton and Airton. On entering Kirkby Malham, take the first right-hand turn to Hanlith (opposite The Victoria public house). Proceed for about a quarter of a mile and immediately before the bridge in front of Hanlith Hall, bear left at the side of the river, through a gate that is usually open. There is a sign that says "Scalegill" on the left hand side of the gate. Scalegill is then at the end of the lane.
